Why we're nonprofit

What it means to be a nonprofit health provider

Our mission is to help people live the healthiest lives possible and that means reaching as many people as possible with the best quality care.

As a nonprofit organization, our motivations are completely different from most other healthcare providers. Our communities are our most important stakeholders. Shareholders are our patients, so we don’t pay dividends to stakeholders. Everything we make is invested back into the communities we serve, the services we provide and reducing healthcare costs.

We have financial support when you need it

We believe financial circumstances shouldn’t dictate whether someone has access to basic medical needs. That’s why we provide assistance to those in our communities who are unable to pay for needed care. We are nationally recognized for achievements in providing excellent outcomes to patients at costs among the lowest in the country.

We reach more people in rural locations

Where you live shouldn’t dictate the quality of your care. We are committed to supporting every community in the regions we serve with hospitals, clinics and outreach services in rural Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, Utah and Colorado.

We are investing in our communities

Our commitment to community health extends well beyond the walls of our hospitals. We’re constantly creating targeted health initiatives in different communities and schools and our financial assistance program grows year-on-year. We also partner with many community agencies and groups with educational programs and other support initiatives.
