Telehealth video visits for providers

Video visits support our patients in rural communities, giving them high-quality specialty care from our world-class experts no matter where you are.

How do telehealth services work?

When a patient in a rural community needs to receive specialty care, they are often transferred to a facility hundreds of miles away from their families and communities – the support system they need most.

Meanwhile, rural hospitals lose much-needed revenue, and communities face the very real possibility of losing their critical access hospital.

Our pioneering TeleHealth services are reversing this trend, keeping patients as close to home as possible, so they can receive high-quality specialty care from world-class experts no matter where they are.

How to partner with Intermountain Health on telehealth

Our telehealth partners typically see

  • Improved speed-to-treatment
  • Retaining higher acuity patients
  • Decreased length of stay
  • Reduced mortality rates

Our partners have access to our Care Process Models and can build relationships with and learn from best-in-class specialists — all the benefits of partnering with a large healthcare system, but maintaining your independence.

Our Clinical Coordination Teams — including intensivists and hospitalists — consult with onsite providers on the need for a transfer. They get patients ready for safe transport, and coordinate with the other Telehealth Support Services, including Transfer Center, Patient Placement, and Life Flight.
